How I discovered these books...
 I was
invited to a home presentation of Usborne Books a few years ago in the home
of a good friend. Skeptical of "non-fiction" books being fun and interesting
for my own preschool aged children (now 12, 11 & 9) I was convinced I would
not buy even one that evening in 1994. Well, needless to say, I barely
contained myself -- booked a showing in my own home -- attended about four
more at other friends homes.
I had been wanting a business to call my own--one
that fit into my family's schedule -- and I just knew I needed to
represent these books. I promote the love of learning... and I like that!
I'm proud of what I do.
Started by Peter Usborne in 1975 in England, Usborne Books are now
published in more than 40 languages all over the world. They are remarkable.
One evening, I tip-toed into my young son's room and found
him cuddled under his covers with a flashlight pouring over a non-fiction
book... that was when I knew for sure that I had stumbled across
something really special. At our house, we love our
computer... but it sure makes a lousy bed-partner!
